A member update from the Executive Director

Dear Member,
As your Executive Director, I wanted you to know there isn’t a day that goes by that we don’t think about our members, knowing how challenging this time has been for you. This is truly a difficult time for us all, and we would like you to know that, despite the closure, we care very much about the health and wellbeing of you and your family.
The unknown destructive nature of the COVID virus made closing Imagine Children’s Museum necessary. We believe it is important that we all be part of a solution that will help get us back to a more normal time.
When we temporarily closed on March 12th, our ability to earn income came to a grinding halt. As a result, it became necessary to lay off approximately 80% of our staff. As the required closures have stretched out, the financial impacts on our nonprofit organizations have become more challenging.
While closed, our members have remained at the forefront of our hearts and minds. Our remaining staff work hard each day to determine ways we can still support your family, find new ways to generate income and plan for reopening. Here are some playful learning opportunities for you and your family to enjoy…
· Videos have been created to provide playful learning fun in your home. If you haven’t had a chance to view them yet, check Imagine’s YouTube channel. They’re free.
· Toddler Time and Preschool Explorers have just started virtual live classes. You can register online and take advantage of your member discount
· The Playful Learning Store has just opened for online shopping. In addition to a member discount, we also offer curbside pick-up!
· Plans for new summer programs serving kids ages 4 through 12 are underway!
For more information on all of the above, be sure to check our website, e-news and Facebook.
Just like everyone at home wondering when things will get back to normal, we too have many questions as the virus and lockdown continue. There is no assured time when the state will allow the Museum to reopen or what the specific requirements will be. Moreover, once that day does arrive, we want to make sure that we are ready to provide your family with the best Museum experience possible while also supporting the health and well-being of your family.
We are looking forward to the day we get to reopen our doors and you can experience the fun that will be awaiting!  Until then, we are going to do everything possible to support your family. Watch the website and e-news for opportunities.
We are deeply grateful for your member loyalty!
