It is supposed to get a little messy!
SPLAT! is a creative, sensory-rich art experience designed for young children ages 2 to 5. This program focuses on exploration instead of the final product, giving little learners space to try materials, notice textures, make choices, and enjoy the process.
Activities rotate weekly, so drop in and see what we are up to. Some days may be fizzy, some days may be squishy, some days may be colorful, and some days may be all of the above.
What might be waiting for you?
Fizzy, bubbly, swirly things
Baking soda painting with fizzing vinegar, bubble painting, marble printing, and other colorful experiments.
Prints, patterns, and paint
Foil transfer prints, tissue paper tie-dye, folded butterfly art, yarn-pull painting, and potato masher stamps.
Squishier stuff, too
Air-dry clay mosaics, coffee ground fossils, thumbprint creatures, playdough, pasta dino building, and more.
Outdoor messy play may pop up, too!
When the sun is out, you might catch SPLAT! outside making mud pies, ice cube art, printing with rainbow foam, or trying another hands-on invitation made for curious little artists.
Good to know beforehand:
Dress for mess
SPLAT! can involve paint, water, foam, clay, or other messy materials, so play clothes are a good idea.
Activities rotate
Projects change weekly, so each visit may bring something new to explore.
It is all about the process
Children can explore materials at their own pace, with no pressure to make something perfect.
Wednesdays and Fridays from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. in Art Hangout
