Book Repair Volunteer

Purpose Oversee and maintain the book library at Imagine Children’s Museum, responsible for covering all new books and making basic book repairs.
Key Responsibilities Inspect books for damage and provide repairs as needed.  Cover new and used hardback books to be able to be used in rotation on the Museum floor and in classrooms.
Location Service can be done on or off site depending on volunteer availability.
Supervision This position reports to the Visitor Experience Manager.
Length of Assignment An ongoing commitment of at least two hours every month is required.
Time Commitment Shifts can be scheduled any day Tuesday through Saturday between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

Qualifications

 

 

Experience preferred with repairing books – ideal for those who have worked in schools or libraries

Ability to work independently

Ability to take direction, seeking assistance when needed

Detail-oriented and organized
