Important Birthday Party Need to Know Facts


Cancellations
• All parties are non-refundable
• If the Museum is required to close unexpectedly (for instance, in the case of inclement weather) you will be given the option either to reschedule or receive a refund

Invitations
• Imagine Children’s Museum offers free party invitations with our branding. You can download these invitations here. Alternatively, you can collect a limited number of pre-printed postcard invitations from the Reservation’s Desk at the Museum

Birthday Party Carts
• The Museum offers carts to help you move gifts and other items to and from your vehicle
• Carts are available to you for the duration of your event, and must be returned to the Museum at party’s scheduled ending time

Accommodations
• Access to the Museum staff’s kitchen may be available upon request during the scheduled event time
• You are welcome to bring a cooler/ice chest if you need to keep anything chilled during your scheduled event time

What is NOT allowed in the Museum?
Due to the nature of our hands-on, interactive Museum exhibits and play spaces, we do not allow:
• Animals (except service animals)
• Piñatas
• Confetti
• Electrical appliances
• Alcoholic beverages

May I bring my own food?
Yes!
• Food and drinks are ONLY allowed in the Commons, located downstairs on the North (original) side of the Museum
• We do not provide utensils, plates, napkins, cups, candles or lighters
• You may bring in a caterer, however it is required that you provide the Reservations team with the caterer’s business license and business insurance during the time of booking

May I bring in extra decorations?
Yes!
• To protect our wall murals, we do not allow anything to be taped, tacked or hung on any walls
• We therefore recommend tabletop decorations
• You will be charged for repairs if there is any damage to the Museum as a result of your decorations

Ending your party
• A Museum staff member will contact you 15 minutes before the end of your party
• Allow enough time to clean up so you are ready to leave promptly at the end of your scheduled event time
• Clean up required that you dispose of all of your garbage in the garbage bins provided, wipe the tables down and take any items that you brought in with you

Hints for successful hosting
• Only invite the number of guests allowed for your party size — remember that you and each member of your family are included in this count
• If your party goes above this limit, you will be charged general admission for each additional guest
• Memberships cannot be used towards birthday party admission
• Every child must be accompanied by an adult as they enter and exit the Museum
• There is a 1:6 adult/child ratio
• Museum staff can help you make announcements when you’d like guests to gather
• Don’t leave clean up until the very end — you’ll want to spend that time visiting with and saying farewell to your guests
