January 2025 Focus: Wilson “Snowflake” Bentley

Have you ever heard the phrase “no two snowflakes are alike”? Photographer and meteorologist Wilson “Snowflake” Bentley demonstrated this on his family farm in Vermont on January 15, 1885. Bentley was the first to develop a process using a camera and microscope to capture the beauty and uniqueness of ice crystals falling from the sky.

Join us to learn about Wilson Bentley and capture your own digital image of a snowflake using a method inspired by Bentley’s 1885 technique!

Time: Saturday, January 25 at 1 p.m.

Kick off the Lunar New Year and embrace the Year of the Snake!

Collect 8 gold coins and receive a special keepsake!
Children who visit Imagine on February 1st will be handed a red envelope to fill with 8 gold coins that can be collected throughout the Museum. When children have collected all 8 coins, they can come to the front desk for a special take home keepsake!
