SPLAT!
A Hands-On Art Experience for Little Ones
Wednesdays and Fridays
9:30 – 10:30 a.m.
Location: Art Hangout
SPLAT! is a creative, sensory-rich art experience designed for young children (ages 2-5), focusing on exploration rather than the final product. It is held on Wednesdays and Fridays from 9:30–10:30 AM in the Art Hangout.
From creative experiments to messy fun, here are just a few of the things you might see:
Baking soda painting with fizzing vinegar
Foil transfer prints and tissue paper tie-dye
Folded butterfly art and yarn-pull painting
Bubble painting, marble printing, and potato masher stamps
Air-dry clay mosaics, coffee ground fossils, and thumbprint creatures
Playdough & pasta dino building
SPLAT painting with paint-soaked cotton balls and a mallet!
Plus, when the sun is out, you might catch us outside making mud pies, ice cube art, or printing with rainbow foam.
Activities rotate weekly—so drop in and see what we’re up to! There’s always something fun to discover.
Why SPLAT!? Messy play fosters brain development by enhancing initiative, focus, and problem-solving. It encourages sensory learning, builds fine motor skills, and helps children gain confidence and creativity—all in a fun, supportive environment!
Included with Museum admission.
