Creative Arts Special Events Volunteer

Purpose Contribute to a strong Creative Arts Department by supporting its special events and special projects, particularly by interacting with visitors and staff, including Creative Arts and Visitor Services staff.
Key Responsibilities Assist with preparation of Creative Arts special events program materials and special projects. Examples of volunteer responsibilities could include, but are not limited to:

  • Prepping Museum decorations
  • Preparing art activity materials
  • Supporting quality visitor experiences by facilitating activities organized specifically for special events, including pop-up play, story times, music and other festive activities
Location Imagine Children’s Museum, various locations throughout the Museum
Supervision This position reports to the Creative Arts Manager.
Length of Assignment

This can be done on an ad-hoc basis, occasionally as the volunteer is available.

This assignment is great for large groups who want to volunteer together.

Time Commitment Flexible and seasonal. Preparation begins at least two weeks before each special event. On the day of the special event, we require a minimum of a 4-hour shift.
Qualifications Commitment to follow Museum safety guidelines; friendly and willing to engage with visitors; willingness to take direction and follow instructions; light physical activity may be required, including standing for up to 4 hours, bending, and lifting up to 10 lbs
